Erica Taylor
She/They | Professional Counseling Associate
I've always been curious about people. Why we feel what we feel, how we learned to cope, and what quietly gets in the way of us being kind to ourselves. That curiosity brought me to this work, and it's what keeps me here. I especially love being in the room with people who have spent too long feeling like they were too much, not enough, or like they simply don't fit. Neurodivergent and queer folks, highly sensitive people, perfectionists, caregivers, and anyone who has been so busy holding everything together that they've lost track of themselves in the process.
Together, we’ll help you slow down, get curious about the patterns keeping you stuck, and start building a kinder relationship with yourself. My approach is holistic and relational, with the hope that you’ll leave each session feeling a little less alone in it.
I hold a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adams State University and a Bachelor’s in Psychology from Portland State University. I am currently a Clinical Mental Health Counseling associate under the Oregon board of Licensed Professional Counselors and Therapists and is being supervised by Katie Playfair LPC and Lacy Cooper LPC.

My path to this work was shaped by both what I witnessed and what I lived. Growing up, I learned firsthand how much empathy and emotional attunement can mean to a person, and how deep the marks can be when those things are absent. That early understanding never left me. It quietly pointed me toward a role where I could offer what I knew mattered: genuine presence, real curiosity, and a willingness to stay. That instinct deepened through years of working in residential and outpatient settings with children, adolescents, and adults.
How I Got Here
What these experiences kept showing me, over and over, was something I now hold as a kind of core truth: healing doesn't happen in isolation or when you feel like you’re being analyzed or fixed. It happens in safe relationship, when you feel seen, heard, and accepted exactly as you are. That's what drew me here, and it's what keeps me here. My why, at the end of the day, is helping people feel less alone in the process of becoming more fully themselves.
My Approach to Therapy
I approach therapy holistically, which means I'm interested in all of you, not just the presenting problem, but the patterns underneath it, the stories you've been carrying, and the ways your body holds what your mind hasn't yet found words for. Sessions with me tend to feel collaborative and conversational. Less like being assessed and more like being accompanied. I'll ask questions that invite you to slow down and get curious about yourself.
Some of what we do together might look like gently examining the beliefs you've developed about who you are and whether they're actually true. It might look like finding small, practical ways to respond to syntoms and concerns differently than you have before. Or it might simply look like having a space where you can say the thing you haven't been able to say anywhere else, and having someone stay with you in it. I follow your lead on what you need, and I hold the bigger picture of where we're going.

Outside of being a therapist, you'll most likely find me somewhere outside. Walking through my neighborhood, camping, or floating down a river in the summer. Nature is where I come back to myself. I also love dancing in my kitchen, spending time with my rescue dog Chili, and when the week calls for it, full burrito mode on the couch. No apologies.
