FAQ & Pricing

Curious what therapy with us is like?

We know finances and logistics are an important part of deciding if a certain therapist is a good fit. Here’s what to expect…

RATES & INSURANCE

Starting therapy is an investment of both time and money, and we want to make the process as accessible as possible.

We accept a variety of insurance plans, including BCBS, Providence, Aetna, OHP, Moda, Kaiser, and Trillium

  • No worries — you can still work with us! You would pay our private pay rate, and if you have out-of-network (OON) benefits, we can provide a superbill upon request. You can submit it to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

We also accept HSA and FSA cards as payment, making it easier to use your existing healthcare funds for therapy.

  • Sessions are $130 for 50 minutes.

  • The Good Faith Estimate is a provision of the No Surprises Act, which was enacted in 2022 to protect people from surprise medical bills. All health care providers are required to provide private pay clients with the estimated cost of annual services prior to the start of services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate at any time.

Other Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer virtual or in-person therapy?

We offer both! We have offices in Portland and Milwaukie, and we also provide telehealth sessions across Oregon, so you can connect with a therapist from wherever you are.

How long are sessions?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes, but they can be extended based on your preferences and needs. Some treatments may also be longer to allow for deeper processing.

How often will we meet?

We typically recommend starting with weekly sessions to build a foundation, get to know one another, and create comfort and momentum in your work. After that, the schedule can be adjusted based on your needs, availability, and budget.

Many clients choose to work with us long-term, meeting regularly over months or even years to continue supporting growth, processing experiences, and maintaining progress. The ultimate goal is a schedule that works sustainably for you.

What if I don't know how to talk about what I'm going through?

That's completely okay! It's actually one of the reasons art therapy and somatic practices can be so useful. You don't have to have words for it before you begin. Sometimes the work of therapy is finding the language for something that has never had it, and we know how to sit with you in that not-yet-knowing without rushing you toward articulation you're not ready for.

What if I need to stop therapy?

Life happens, and we understand that. If you need to pause or end therapy for any reason (financial, logistical, or simply because you feel ready) we'll handle that with care and without pressure. We can talk about what a good ending looks like, or what it might look like to return when the time is right. There is no wrong way to navigate this, and we'll follow your lead.

What happens after I fill out the interest form?

A member of our admin team will reach out to you — usually within one to two business days — to ask a few questions about what you're looking for and help match you with the therapist who feels like the right fit. From there, we'll help you schedule an initial session at a pace that works for you. There's no pressure, no commitment, and no wrong way to start.

Can I meet with a therapist before committing to ongoing sessions?

Yes. An initial session is a chance for both of us to get a sense of fit — for you to ask questions, share what's on your mind, and get a feel for the space and the person you'd be working with. There's no obligation to continue if it doesn't feel right, and we'd rather you find the right fit than stay somewhere that isn't working.

How do I know if a therapist is the right fit?

Sometimes you know quickly, and sometimes it takes longer. Fit isn't always immediately obvious, and that's completely normal. It can take a few sessions to really settle into a therapeutic relationship and get a true sense of whether it's working. We encourage you to pay attention to how you feel, not just during sessions but in the hours after them, and to trust that instinct.

What if I start working with someone and it doesn't feel right?

If something isn’t working with a provider, we encourage you to reach out and let us know. Therapeutic fit matters enormously, and we would much rather hear that something isn't working than have you quietly tolerate a relationship that doesn't feel right. Feedback is always welcome, at any point in the process. If the fit isn't there with one clinician, we're happy to help connect you with someone else on our team, or to help you find the right support elsewhere if that's what makes most sense. Your care always comes first.
